Beta · four platforms
Help us prove the new connectors
Recap records your screens and cuts a labeled clip out of every trade you close. Four platform connectors are built and unit-tested, but nobody outside our team has run them against a live account yet. If you trade on one of them, that’s the trade: you get Recap free while it’s in beta, and we get to find out what breaks.
What you’re signing up for
This is not a polished release, and pretending otherwise would waste your time.
- The connectors are unproven. Quantower, ATAS and ATAS X are compiled and unit-tested against Recap’s wire format, with a byte-for-byte parity check against the NinjaTrader connector that has been running in production. What hasn’t happened is a live account sending real fills through them.
- The Mac app is young. It records and clips, but it has had far less time on real machines than the Windows build, and it isn’t notarized yet — macOS blocks it until you right-click and choose Open.
- Telling us what broke is the whole point. [email protected], or Settings → Suggest a feature in the app. Real features have shipped from that box.
Check your platform will actually load it
Two of these have licence tiers that decide whether the connector can run at all. Worth knowing before you install rather than after.
- ATAS and ATAS X need the Plus tier or above. Custom indicators are gated — on Lite the connector can’t be loaded.
- MotiveWave needs Professional or Ultimate. The Strategy menu isn’t available on lower editions, and a plain study never sees your fills.
- ATAS captures per chart. A trade on an instrument you have no Recap-enabled chart open for is never captured, and nothing tells you it was missed. Add the indicator to a chart for every instrument you trade.
Full steps for each are in Connect your platform.
What it costs, and what we ask back
Nothing, while Recap is in beta. There’s no card to start.
Access comes in 31-day blocks. Near the end of one, tell us what you’ve found — what broke, what confused you, what you’d want next — and we extend it. That’s the actual trade: you’re putting connectors nobody has run against a live account through real trading, and what we’re exchanging access for is what you learn doing it. Go quiet for a month and the licence lapses.
We’d rather say that plainly than have you find out when the app stops opening.
There’s no countdown on this page and no date we’re keeping from you — the plan for general availability isn’t settled yet.
