The Recap window
Recap is a single window with a top navigation bar and five tabs, plus a full‑screen Review screen that opens when you click a trade.
Recap remembers the window’s size and position between launches, so it reopens exactly where you left it. If that remembered size (or the default, on first launch) is too large for the monitor it opens on, Recap sizes itself down to fit the screen instead of spilling off the edge.
Top navigation bar (always visible)
- Library · Timeline · Record · Integrations · Settings — the five tabs.
- Eye icon — hides account numbers for screenshots and streams; click again to show them. Lights up while masking is on. See Settings ▸ Trading accounts for the full/nicknames choice.
- ⚑ Drop Marker — flag the current instant while recording.
- REC indicator — persistent status pill: Idle / Armed / ● REC (with an elapsed timer and a disk hint), or Degraded when something is wrong. It always reflects the real recording state — it can’t silently lie.
- Active‑sources pill — a compact “N sources” count while recording, with a per‑source tooltip and a “reconnecting…” state.
- Update pill — appears when an app update is available.
Tabs
- Library (default) — your trades as a sortable, filterable table with session stats (net points, win rate, count); open positions are pinned live at the top. A Summary toggle swaps in a calendar of your trading days with per-symbol P&L, a time-of-day panel, and a per-symbol scorecard.
- Timeline — a per‑day coverage view of your raw footage with a marker lane; drag‑select any range to cut a clip after the fact.
- Record — pick capture sources (monitors and windows), star favorites, and Start/Stop.
- Integrations — stable cards for Sierra Chart, NinjaTrader, and MotiveWave plus beta cards for Quantower and ATAS X show whether each connector is available, connected, or sending trades. Published connectors provide Test connection, a Setup guide link, and Download & Install, which copies the connector into the platform’s standard folder. A Tradovate beta card below them links your Tradovate account directly — no file to install — see Tradovate.
- Settings — clip bounds, retention, startup behavior, capture favorites, storage locations, tag management, trading-account nicknames, theme, feature suggestions, diagnostics & usage data, account, and build info.
Review screen
Opens when you click a “ready” trade — Recap’s film room:
- Tale of the Tape — the trade’s headline (instrument, direction, P&L, hold time) and its key stats — size, hold, peak, heat, points, and result — side by side with your own averages.
- The replay deck — every recorded screen replayed in sync, with a scrubber, speeds, a feed picker, and a trade lane marking your entry, exit, and (when available) the trade’s best and worst moments.
- The notes panel — pinned moments, guided reflection notes, and the 1–5 mood rating. Everything autosaves.
See Review a trade for the full tour.
If a view ever hits an error, Recap shows a recoverable “Try again” panel and keeps the nav bar and REC indicator alive — one bad view never takes down the app.
