Quick start

The shortest path from zero to your first clip.

  1. Launch Recap and sign in (Google or an emailed sign-in code).
  2. Choose what to record. Open the Record tab. Check one or more Monitors (and/or specific Windows, e.g. your trading platform). Click Start recording. The nav bar shows a red ● REC indicator and an elapsed timer; you can switch tabs or even close the window — it minimizes to the tray and keeps recording.
  3. Connect your platform. Install the connector for your trading platform so Recap can see your trades — see Connect your platform. (Trading in your platform’s simulation mode is a great way to test the whole flow first.)
  4. Place a trade. The moment a round‑trip trade closes, Recap automatically cuts a labeled clip — no clicking required.
  5. Watch it appear. Open the Library tab. Within a few seconds a new row shows up, e.g. NQ · long · +34.0 pts · 09:42:15. Click it to open the Review screen — your recorded screen(s) replay in sync, with the trade’s stats and a notes panel alongside. See Review a trade.
  6. Stop when done. Click ■ Stop in the nav bar — it’s there on every tab (or right‑click the tray icon → Quit).

That’s the core loop: record → trade → automatic labeled clip → review.
